Our portion carries a promise of Godly assistance in conquering the Land of Israel and blessings for following His commands. Moses warns the people that they will be punished for disregarding God’s word and reminds them of several incidents in which they had sinned, but mostly focuses on the good that God will bring them if they keep His laws. It also deals heavily with the bounty of the Promised Land.
Va'etchanan: Rabbi Gedalia Meyer's Weekly Torah Study
Our popular Root Source teacher Rabbi Gedalia Meyer has been giving short weekly teaching on the Weekly Portion for the Temple Institute.
We are grateful to our friends at the Temple Institute who gave permission to provide Rabbi Meyer’s teachings here too.
Lesson 2: Proverbs Ch 1 Verses 8-9
Rabbi Leifert explains that much of the book of Proverbs is in the form of a letter from Parent to Child. In Proverbs 1:8, the Rabbi explores the difference between instruction and teaching, and its relation to the masculine and femine forms of parenting, and the Jewish view of parents and parenting.
Rabbi Ari Shvat talked about Messianic Signs
This week we are happy to introduce Rabbi Ari Shvat who will be a new teacher in Root Source. We hope you enjoy this answer that he wrote when someone asked him about signs of Messiah.
A famous Israeli publicist came out with a truly despicable response to the Meron tragedy where 45 beautiful Jewish souls, all religious Jews, mostly Ultra-Orthodox Jews, lost their lives.
