This week’s portion Exodus 13:17 described the length when Pharaoh let the Israelites go, God led the people roundabout by way of the Sea of Reeds. Moses took the bones of Joseph with them. God went before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night. Finally, the portion closes with an explanation of the Song of the Sea.

The Red Sea Is Splitting Again

It seems like so many of us are waiting to see a miracle on the level of “The Splitting of the Sea.” We hear people saying,” the whole world is too crazy for me to believe. The details are just too overwhelming for me to pay enough attention to them. I ‘ll know it when I see that it’s time.” In reality, Hashem is showing us miracles all of the time. We need to see everything around us as the miraculous work of our Creator which goes so beyond our ability to intellectually and rationally comprehend. He is illuminating our lives with every event, personal and national, which takes place.

During the holiday of Passover last week, Gidon took a trip with his family to the north to the Sea of Galilee. On his way back, he stop by to his friend Chaim Malespin of the Aliyah Return Center not far from the Sea of Galilee. Chaim and Gidon decided to hold a Zoom interview, which they did the next day. In this interview, Gidon covered many topics, including how his father survived the Holocaust and spent time in Israel before the State was established.
