Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. Proverbs 18:21

What a Blessing! “and it will be (a great “simchah”) when you come to The Land” (D’vraim 26.1). That it is! That it was and always will be. “Hodu La’Hashem Ki Tov, ki l’olam chasdo” (Tehilim136) How good is Hashem to us to afford us the opportunity to live in His Land. What a “zchut!”
We sign off with a lovely comment from our Root Source student and a beautiful photo of Church the Ascension - Night.

THE PORTION OF
NITZAVIM-VAYELECH
This week’s portion Nitzavim Deuteronomy 29:9-30:20 is one of the shortest in the Torah, with a mere 40 verses (next week’s Vayelech has only 30). Even when the two are combined, which happens most years, they number fewer verses than most other single portions. The verses themselves, however, are longer than those in most other portions.
This incredibly short portion Vayelech tells of Moses passing the torch onto Joshua. He tells the people that Joshua will lead them into the land of Israel, and offers Joshua words of encouragement. God does likewise. Also in the portion, God tells Moses to record a song which the Children of Israel will learn, so they never forget that any suffering they experience is the result of their own actions.

A Song of Thanks in a Time of Hatred and Dissension
Our musical friend Yehudah Katz would like to say a few words about his brand new song and video.
Dear Friends,
For the past 6 months to four years we have seen a very sad situation of growth of hatred and dissension in the world. In my humble opinion, this all began 60 years ago when certain part s of our society decided to attempt to exclude God from our daily life. Of course, while we know that this is not truly possible, too many people have been working overtime to concretize this mission.
In response to this situation, our band. Hamagal, has been blessed to put out a new video clip, “Shir Todah, A Song of Thanks” to emphasize our acute awareness that God is running our world and that we would like to thank Him daily for all that He does.

Our student Paul enjoyed Root Source and had this to say:
Isn’t it amazing how God takes us on a journey of discovery, rather than just sitting us down and dumping a load of information on us? “Follow me,” He says, and as we’re walking along with Him — perhaps through the beautiful hills of Galilee — He stops and points at something and asks us what we see. And in answering, our eyes are opened to really see. Amazing to me, anyway.
