Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or
forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

Dear ,
In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Shemini Leviticus 9:1-11:47, details at length the special service Aaron and his four sons brought in the Tabernacle for the first time, following the seven day period of inauguration. It tells of the tragic demise of Aaron’s elder two sons, Nadab and Abihu, and what happens in the aftermath of their deaths. Finally, the portion closes with a lengthy explanation of the laws of permitted and forbidden
animals for consumption, known as the Kosher laws.
Gidon will be hosting Root Source Live ZOOM events, open to Dallas residents and to all other Earth residents too!

Ezra Yakhin spoke at the Nations’ 9th of Av conference in 2019 and at age 91 was the oldest active reservist in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). In part 1 he shares his story up to the point of being wounded in battle.
In case you missed it, here is the 2-part visit to Tagba combined into a single video. Root Source Tours takes you to Taghba on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. After learning how olives were processed 2,000 year ago, we look at a church build on the traditional site of the feeding of the multitude. Then we shift to another spot in Taghba on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. We visit the site of the breakfast prepared for Peter and other
disciples after the resurrection of Christ, and pause by the shoreline to take in the sights and sounds.
Let it Be Your Will Tonight! Tonight I tell the story of the exodus to get out of my own personal Mitzraim, my slave minded behavior.
This week, we feature a question from our student Donna who is asking about the different sacrifices.
We sign off with a beautiful photo of Mount Hermon.
Shalom,
Gidon Ariel and Bob O’Dell

Root Source LIVE on Zoom - Ask Me Anything!
Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing OK sheltering in place or whatever you call it where you live, we are all praying that this pandemic will pass soon.
Until then, I have suspended my trips to Texas and the area, so I will sadly not be hosting a Root Source Live event in Dallas this May.
The good news, though, is that I _will_ be hosting Root Source Live ZOOM events, open to Dallas residents and to all other Earth residents too!
We will launch this new series, which might be bi-monthly instead of quarterly, on Sunday, May 3, at 1 PM Texas time. (That's 2 PM New York time, and 9 PM Israel time.) The event will last exactly one hour.
I will begin by talking about the festival-full months we are in the midst of, and will spend time doing AMA - Ask Me Anything!
We will not be spending time doing study-partner preview of a source sheet as we had been doing in Dallas area Root Source Live events, rather we will jump right into my speaking.
Please send me your questions at gidon@root-source.com, and I will respond to them with first priority during the live session.
This will be a Zoom session, which means that there will be room for no more than one hundred participants. We will be simulcasting on my Facebook page if you cannot get in.
You will be able to ask questions on the Zoom chatbox, and as comments on the Facebook Live feed.
See you then! And feel free to be in touch beforehand: gidon@root-source.com
Women in the Bible. Eve 5 - The Aftermath of the Sin in the Garden of Eden
In this lesson, I reveal what the Talmud has to say about the tree from which Adam and Eve ate. (Hint: In Jewish tradition, it's not an apple tree.)
We also look more deeply into the behavior of Adam and Eve when confronted by God in the Garden of Eden.

Presented in video and downloadable audio for your convenience. (16:15)

Let it Be Your Will Tonight!
This week’s music https://youtu.be/r6snFroRCuM
Tonight I tell the story of the exodus to get out of my own personal Mitzraim, my slave minded behavior
Tonight I ask the questions of myself to be fully cleansed
Tonight I eat the Matzah to taste how it feels to be humble
Tonight I taste the bitter herbs and be one with the suffering of my brothers and sisters then and now
Tonight I am ready to truly receive Elijah the Prophet in our presence and call out loud for the “Geulah Shleimah”
Tonight when we sing we will know that we are singing together
Next Year all of us in Yerushalayim
Chag Sameach V’kasher,
Yehudah
The burnt offering was done in the Temple courtyard on the brazen altar, were the sacrifices for sin offered on the same altar?
Donna asked:
Thank you for being such a light! My question concerns the different sacrifices. The burnt offering was done, (I think), 3 times a day in the Temple courtyard on the brazen altar. Were the sacrifices for sin offered on the same altar or somewhere else? I will study more, but I’m not clear on where the sin offerings took place. Shalom!
