Dear ,
In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Mikeitz Genesis 41:1-44:17, continues the story of Joseph in Egypt. Joseph successfully interprets Pharaoh’s dream and is made viceroy over all of Egypt. He successfully steers the country through both abundance and famine, so that it becomes the destination for hungry families from nearby countries seeking food for purchase. Among the buyers are Joseph’s own brothers, who fail to recognize him when they
face him. He accuses them of spying, taking Simeon hostage in exchange for proof of their defense: their youngest brother, Benjamin. At first reluctant to send him, Jacob eventually relents, but things take a turn for the worse when Joseph plants a silver cup in his pack and accuses him of stealing it.

Tommy Waller and his entire family have broken new ground with their innovative organization, HaYovel, that allows Christians to connect directly with the land of Israel by harvesting grapes from the vineyards. In this video we caught up with Tommy Waller as he speaks to Christians on Elon Moreh, Abraham’s first stop in the land of Israel. about what is the “Israel Thing”. One of the things we have done over the years on Root Source, is to post interesting videos on various topics, and one of the topics we have covered in the past is the location of Mount Sinai. The traditional site for Mount Sinai in the Sinai Peninsula, but this is a tradition that dates only back to the 4th century. Many have noted that there are much older traditions for the mountain in Saudi Arabia being what is today called Jebel al Lawz, east of
the traditional site and across the Gulf of Aqaba.
Avraham Herzlich’s life before becoming a shepherd in Israel included a good job in the hi-tech industry, race cars, and other trappings of upper-middle class life.
Getting to Know You. Why is it so important to many of us to always be right? “I know that I am right! I am living my truth!” We are ready to slander and cut each other down simply to prove that “I am right and you’re wrong!” So you say ok we have differences, nothing we can do about it. At least we can “agree to disagree,” they say. It seems to me that it is not good enough to simply
acknowledge our differences. We need to get to know each other and understand what our differences are about. What are my actions and commitments based on? What makes you tick? Why are you so troubled by my way?
We sign off with a beautiful photo of En Gedi.
Shalom,

Finding the Mountain of Moses
One of the things we have done over the years on Root Source, is to post interesting videos on various topics, and one of the topics we have covered in the past is the location of Mount Sinai. Recently Joel Richardson has reported that the Saudi’s are getting close to being ready to open up restricted areas in Saudi Arabia to public inspection. In addition, Joel is trying to get a new film out with the best-ever footage, and he is doing it with full permission of the Saudi government. Hopefully that film will be released in 2020. But while we wait, I would like to suggest the next best thing.
News & Prayer: How an Israeli Shepherd Left High Tech to Tend to His Flock
Avraham Herzlich’s life before becoming a shepherd in Israel included a good job in the hi-tech industry, race cars, and other trappings of upper-middle class life.
But the 79-year-old shepherd said goodbye to all that to follow in the footsteps of biblical heroes such as King David, who tended to flocks in the Holy Land.
As Herzlich explains, the shepherd’s life has brought him peace, clarity, and a stronger connection with his higher purpose.

We need to stop allowing our differences of opinion and life commitments from being barriers for us to know each other. I need to be looking to want to find out where can I find the positive in your way of life which, although it may totally
contradict my life commitments, it will give me a better understanding of who you are. If we do this, then perhaps we can come beyond simply agreeing to disagree and strive for a simple goal to behave as true brothers and sisters should relate to each other.
