In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion RE’EH Deuteronomy 11:26-16:17, focuses on changes which will take place upon the people’s entry into Israel. First, they are told to wipe out all forms of idolatry which remain from the land’s previous inhabitants. They are then told God will set aside a special place for them to serve Him. Moses tells the people how to deal with deceitful people who will try to lead the nation astray from God. He
reminds the people of the laws of kosher animals and teaches them about certain tithes. He reiterates certain aspects of the shmitta year and the pilgrimage holidays.
Gidon Ariel, the director of Root Source was featured in the Breaking Israel News for helping in the planning and running of the events and projects associated with the Nations’ Ninth of Av.

The order was given despite the region reaching highs of 104 degrees.

The Slonimer Rebbe teaches us that the opening of this week’s Torah portion, “V’haya Ekev Tishmeun,” and it will be when you will listen to all ……,” ( Devarim 7.12), please be aware according to The Rebbe, that time is now.
This is the generation that is living, B’ikvei Hamashiach, in the foothills of Moshiach. That is us right now.

Emergency Appeal: IDF Soldiers Barred from Using AC in Vehicles in 104 Heat
IDF soldiers from the Golani Brigade stationed on Israel’s southern border, have received a direct order not to turn on the air conditioner in their Namer (Panther) armored personnel carriers (APC) reports Walla
News..
The order was given despite the region reaching highs of 104 degrees.
The reason – budget cuts.
The soldiers filed an urgent request to turn on the AC while patrolling the border with Gaza. That request was summarily denied by the battalion commander who claimed that the air conditioner consumes a lot of fuel which increases the cost of
operations in the field.
The upper brass claimed that it would save them tens of thousands of shekels a month.
A private organization with a creative solution
Although the IDF troops patrolling the Gaza border aren’t allowed to use the air conditioner in their closed vehicles, there is a solution that you can be a part of.

Dear Bob and Gidon,
I have had a wonderful 5 months discovering the resources on Root Source. It has been part of an amazing year in which I have also found, first 929 project which I follow daily, then Root Source and also Israel First. I have loved Israel for many years but this year was new.... I found out the wonderful links which are developing between Christians and Jews.
I feel I am linked on line in a wonderful way to new friends and this year I hope to share this prayer and connection with friends in my church.
Through you all I have found archeology ( Anarina) and music ( Yehuda Katz, Shira choir ) and most recently your preparations for the Temple ( we have no idea about this).
I read Hebrew and love parasha teachings, sometimes I go to our synagogue and to meetings of Council of Christians and Jews here in the UK.
