Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not
be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Dear ,
As in the past, Gidon is coming to the USA, focusing on Dallas, Texas.
He will also be the South Florida, Washington DC (at CUFI), Tulsa, OK and Denver, Colorado. (Whew!)
This week, the weekly Torah portion KORACH Numbers 16:1 – 18:32, deals primarily with the rebellion of the eponymous Korah and his followers against the authority of Moses and Aaron. A cousin to the leading brothers, Korah protests Moses’s concentration of power in the family, insisting the entire nation is holy. Only God’s intervention succeeds in putting down the insurrection and restoring unity to the camp. The portion ends with a
reiteration of Aaron’s priestly duties in the service of God, as well as specific gifts to be apportioned to the priests and Levites.
Again, speaking bad about our Holy Land. Every year this Torah portion of “Shlach L’cha” comes around and it hurts. How can anyone speak bad about our home? We are all so guilty of speaking bad about people whom in reality we don’t really know, and yet we feel compelled to express our important opinion. The same holds true of Eretz Yisrael.
I have a feeling that this series may be a favorite series for some of you. It started out when I, Bob O’Dell, wrote an article at Root Source a month earlier about the Prodigal Son. The article can be read here https://root-source.com/blog/studio-see-048-a-view-too-small-prodigal-son-story/.

In the summer of 2016, Bob O’Dell and Gidon Ariel published Jubilee NOW. So much has changed since then, that we have published a FINAL EDITION of this book, with close to a hundred pages of new content, bringing this exciting topic up to date! Buy the new edition, for a limited time only up to SIXTY FIVE PERCENT OFF! Get it here.
On the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av, Jews worldwide gather to mourn for the destruction of the Holy Temple and to commemorate multiple tragedies in Jewish history. Today, Christians and Jews are hard at work, creating an appropriate, parallel observance for Christians.
Bob O’Dell interviews Abe Truitt. In Part 2, Abe describes for Bob O’Dell his reaction to hearing about our initial plans for the observing the 9th of Av in Jerusalem in 2019, what Abe suggested that we as Christians do differently, and how the IFCJ could help.
We sign off with a photo of a Rocky Ground.
Shalom,
Gidon Ariel and Bob O’Dell

Let’s look at the behavior of the “meraglim,” Jewish spies, in the desert, and use it as a lesson to be sure that we don’t repeat this in our time.

After reading that passage in Luke 15, Gidon Ariel suggested that next time I come to Israel he wanted to go on camera and comment about that passage. So we did exactly that. I set up the camera, turned it on….. and here is how it went
down!
Part 1 of 3. (15:45)

Jubilee Now FINAL EDITION!
|
In the summer of 2016, Bob O’Dell and Gidon Ariel published Jubilee NOW, to explore and delve deeply into the concept of the Jubilee, the Yovel, and try to understand what God means for us to know and do. This was especially important as, in contrast to Shemitah and Blood Moons, there are barely any books written for Christians about the Jubilee. God had left this field wide open so to speak, and in Jubilee NOW!, O’Dell and Ariel introduced this critical topic
to the world very seriously.
So much has changed since then, that we have published a FINAL EDITION of this book, with close to a hundred pages of new content, bringing this exciting topic up to date!
If you bought the first edition of Jubilee NOW, you will be fascinated to read this new edition.
And if you missed out on all the excitement, you will be FASCINATED by the research that is presented in Jubilee Now FINAL EDITION!

New Initiative Launched To Establish A Christian 9th Of Av
|
On the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av, Jews worldwide gather to mourn for the destruction of the Holy Temple and to commemorate multiple tragedies in Jewish history. Today, Christians and Jews are hard at work, creating an appropriate, parallel observance for Christians.
Interview: Abe Truitt – 2 – How Young Abe changed the Nations’ 9th of Av
|
Abe Truitt is the 27 year-old manager of tourism at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ). Pioneered by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, of blessed memory, he is succeeded by his daughter Yael Eckstein, who is President of the IFCJ.
In Part 2, Abe describes for Bob O’Dell his reaction to hearing about our initial plans for the observing the 9th of Av in Jerusalem in 2019, what Abe suggested that we as Christians do differently, and how the IFCJ could help.
Are you at Home on the 9th of Av?
|
In the guest-post below, Steve Wearp from the Nations’ 9th of Av announces a new facet of the upcoming event — the chance for you to participate in the 9th of Av in August, even from your own home. Then he gives you links to all the resources you will need. Take it away,
Steve!
Blessings, Bob O’Dell
