“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through
the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2

Dear ,
This week, the weekly Torah reading Ki Tisa, discusses the census of the Israelites, the washbasin of the Tabernacle, the anointing oils for the priests and kings, the incense offering, and the Sabbath. The Torah then relates the story of the Golden Calf, God's anger at the Jewish nation, Moses successfully arguing for Divine forgiveness for the sin, the subsequent breaking of the tablets, and the giving of the second
tablets.

Root Source continues its interview with Member of Knesset Yehuda Glick.

Studio See 37. Unfortunately, all is not right with the world. And neither is everything perfect in the ranks of the people of God. So while it is good and right to dwell on what is good and right, there comes a time when we must allow the light of God to shine on those places that are not perfect, where we are missing the mark, and expose them.
Last week we announced the Nations’ 9th of Av website and suggested you to sign up for updates. This week we offer another reason to sign up for updates.
We recently introduced you to Yehudah Katz and the Ma’agal and some of their music. Today we share with you more of his music and a discussion on the Jewish concept of dayeinu: on having enough.
This week, we feature a question from our student Be Be who was asking why Rabbi Tuly keep saying the Jewish holidays again instead of biblical holidays.
We sign off with a lovely photo of the Sidewalk and Olive Trees.
Shalom,

Weekly Portion:
Ki Tisa – February 23 – 18th of Adar I, 5779
|
In this Shabbat's weekly Torah portion Ki Tisa, Exodus 30:11 - 34:35, The people of Israel are told to each contribute exactly half a shekel of silver to the Sanctuary. Instructions are also given regarding the making of the Sanctuary’s water basin, anointing oil and incense. “Wise-hearted” artisans Betzalel and Aholiav are placed in charge of the Sanctuary’s construction, and the people are once again commanded to keep the Shabbat.
In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading I Kings 18:20-39 , Elijah the Prophet demonstrates the worthlessness of the Baal, just as Moses chastised the Israelites for serving the Golden Calf, as discussed in this week's Torah reading.
Happy studying!
Jubilee Now FINAL EDITION!
|
In the summer of 2016, Bob O’Dell and Gidon Ariel published Jubilee NOW, to explore and delve deeply into the concept of the Jubilee, the Yovel, and try to understand what God means for us to know and do. This was especially important as, in contrast to Shemitah and Blood Moons, there are barely any books written for Christians about the Jubilee. God had left this field wide open so to speak, and in Jubilee NOW!, O’Dell and Ariel introduced this critical topic
to the world very seriously.
So much has changed since then, that we have published a FINAL EDITION of this book, with close to a hundred pages of new content, bringing this exciting topic up to date!
If you bought the first edition of Jubilee NOW, you will be fascinated to read this new edition.
And if you missed out on all the excitement, you will be FASCINATED by the research that is presented in Jubilee Now FINAL EDITION!

Studio See: 037 – The Evil Speech Speech

Unfortunately, all is not right with the world. And neither is everything perfect in the ranks of the people of God. So while it is good and right to dwell on what is good and right, there comes a time when we must allow the light of God to shine on those places that are not perfect, where we are missing the mark, and expose them.
In this series of 52 columns, that time, that pivot point has now come. God forbid that we should stay in the negative for the rest of this series, but I now feel called to share with you some of the weight I carry. You can be the judge of whether that which I carry is my own, or also from God.

Why Rabbi Tuly keep saying the Jewish holidays again instead of biblical holidays?

Hi! Why Rabbi Tuly keep saying the Jewish holidays again instead of biblical holidays? Please enlighten me.
Gidon responded:
Hi Be Be (what a lovely name!:-)
Thanks for writing.
You noticed something that opens up to you how a Jewish brain works:-)
As I have mentioned many times, up until very recently, and really for most Jews still, we Jews felt all alone in the world. It is very easy for Jews to say “It’s us against the world.” This goes for pretty much everything, and in no small way faith as well.
