On June 14, 2016 while travelling from Jerusalem towards Tel Aviv and passing near Modi’in I caught some images of the sunrise with my iPhone 6. The images of the sunrise are shown latest to earliest and none of them are cropped or altered in any way.

Va’eira – January 5 – 28th of Tevet, 5779
|
In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Va’eira, Exodus 6:2 – 9:35 , God reveals Himself to Moses. Employing the “four expressions of redemption,” He promises to take out the Children of Israel from Egypt, deliver them from their enslavement, redeem them, and acquire them as His own chosen people at Mount Sinai; He will then bring them to the land He promised to the Patriarchs as their eternal heritage.
In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading Ezekiel 28:25 – 29:21 ,begins with a mention of the ingathering of the exiles, echoing God’s promise mentioned in the Torah portion: “I will take you out of the suffering of Egypt.” The prophet then goes on to discuss the decimation of Pharaoh and Egypt, reminiscent of the primary theme of the Torah portion—the devastation God wrought upon Egypt.

Pastor Rafael Cruz, father of US Senator Ted Cruz, gives the keynote speech at the Root Source Leadership Breakfast. His topic was on Israel and he gives an in-depth teaching on God’s Covenant with Abraham in Genesis

At one point when Pastor Cruz talked about the Hebrew meanings, Gidon asks to interrupt and takes Pastor Cruz’s points to a whole new level, awing the crowd with an in-depth Hebrew explanation of the verse same verse that Pastor Cruz was quoting.
This keynote speech did not disappoint the very engaged audience. (47:12)
