This week, the weekly Torah reading Noach,
Noah and his family, along with at least one pair of each living creature, survive the Flood by taking refuge in an Ark. The erection of the Tower of Babel angers God, and leads to the dispersal of Noah's descendants. Abraham and Sarah are born.
This week we take you to Gidon Ariel's succah to see the redemption of his firstborn grandchild, and we also conclude our series on the Midrash of Paul the
Apostle.
Watch below the concluding video that explains an amazing discovery: A Midrash of the Torah has been written by Paul the Apostle, and it is hidden right under our noses in the New Testament!
Studio See
019. Paul’s letter to the church in Rome, more formally entitled: Epistle to the Romans, is his longest letter. It has been quoted many times already in our Studio See articles, because it contains many passages that help shed light on (a) how Christians of both Jewish and non-Jewish ethnicity should relate to each other within the church, and (b) how the church should relate to Jewish people overall.
On Rosh Hashanah
imagine you are praying in the ancient Abuhav Synagogue in Tzfat. Pick a ripe pomegranate off the table of the Machane Yehuda shuk in Jerusalem. Hike the Arbel mountain at sunset. Gaze at the Land from atop Har Gilboa. These are just a few of the scenes in this year’s calendar.
We sign off with a lovely quote from a Root Source student and an amazing photo.

Weekly Portion: Noach – 13 – 4th of Cheshvan
|
In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Noach Genesis 6:9–11:32, God instructs Noah—the only righteous man in a world consumed by violence and corruption—to build a large wooden teivah (“ark”), coated within and without with pitch. A great deluge, says God, will wipe out all life from the face of the earth; but the
ark will float upon the water, sheltering Noah and his family, and two members (male and female) of each animal species. In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading Isaiah 54:1-10, God enjoins her to rejoice, for the time will soon come when the Jewish nation will return and proliferate, repopulating Israel’s once desolate cities. The prophet assures the Jewish people that God has not forsaken them. Although He has momentarily hid His countenance
from them, He will gather them from their exiles with great mercy. The Haftorah compares the final Redemption to the pact God made with Noah in this week’s Torah reading. Just as God promised to never bring a flood over the entire earth, so too He will never again be angry at the Jewish people.
Happy studying!
Redemption of the Firstborn – An Exciting Firsthand Look

Gidon allows Root Source to film a very special event in the life of his family — Gidon’s first grandson Nachman, his daughter Shira Rina, and his son-in-law Ori, participating in the redemption of the firstborn ceremony with the tribe of Levi, held in their backyard succah.
In Hebrew it is called the Pidyon HaBen. (9:09)

Part 3 discusses the examples of the discovery, including where the
New Covenant can be found within the Torah! (21:32)
