This week, the weekly Torah reading Ki Tavo, the Israelites are
commanded to bring the first of their fruit to the Temple, and to deliver all tithes to their proper recipients. Moses explains how the blessings and curses are to be proclaimed on Mts. Grizzim and Ebal when the Jewish nation enters into Israel. He then details the blessings they will receive for following the commandments of the Torah, and the calamities which will result from disregarding them.

Israeli Settlements to people who might think that Israel is simply an illegal occupier? Root Source teacher Sondra Baras explains the history of Israeli Settlements quickly and effectively.
Studio See 016. Last week we discussed whether God might be calling Christians, in this period of history, to focus particularly on sins committed against Jews, and whether
that focus might possibly release revival. In addition, we remarked that revival is always coupled with prayer, repentance, a turning away from sin, and seeing things in the Bible that others have missed.
Only 2 weeks to go! A Christian man I know, who loves Israel and the Jews, has made a stunning discovery about the New Testament.
Breaking Israel News has been watching what has been happening here at Root Source regarding the repentance for Christian atrocities of the past. They also know that the 40 days from Elul 1 to Yom Kippur are prime times on God’s calendar for repentance. An article published a few days ago brings those ideas together and asks: Is the current 40 day season not an opportune time for Christians to renounce and repent for Replacement
Theology?
We sign off with a lovely quote from a Root Source student and an amazing photo of the City Walls.

Weekly Portion: Ki Tavo – September 1 – 21st Elul
|
In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Ki Tavo Deuteronomy 26:1 – 29:8, Moses instructs the people of Israel: When you enter the land that God is giving to you as your eternal heritage, and you settle it and cultivate it, bring the first-ripened fruits (bikkurim) of your orchard to the Holy Temple, and declare your
gratitude for all that God has done for you. In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading Isaiah 60:1 – 60:22, is the sixth of a series of seven “Haftarot of Consolation.” These seven haftarot commence on the Shabbat following Tisha b’Av and continue until Rosh Hashanah.

But what about music and song?
It seems that
the history of revival has also been accompanied (no pun intended) by music — new music.

I just want to say how enjoyable that message was from Sondra Baras!

Carolyn enjoyed Root Source and had this to say. Carolyn wrote:
I just want to say how enjoyable that message was from Sondra Baras and very interesting point of view and she
brought out some interesting thoughts about how supernatural it was on the desert and I just thought wow! what was, wasn't it? and how there comes a point in our lives that without God what could we do? Say well, I don't understand why this happened and that happened and you come to a place of acceptance because God is God. So, I found that it was great to hear her point of view. I found it really interesting. Thank you very much!
