This week, the weekly Torah reading Re'eh, Moses continues
addressing the Israelites just before he passes away; just before the Israelites cross the Jordan River and enter the land of Israel. Moses commands the Israelites to proclaim certain blessings and curses on Mount Grizzim and Mount Ebal after they enter the land of Israel. He directs them to destroy all vestiges of idolatry from the Promised Land. They must then designate a city where the Divine presence will dwell in the Holy Temple, and they are forbidden from offering sacrifices elsewhere.
Other topics discussed in this portion are: tithes, false prophets, the wayward city, tattoos, kashrut, the Sabbatical Year, charity, and the festivals.

Knesset. The Tisha B’Av 2018 declaration and signatures are presented to Yuli Edelstein, the speaker of the Knesset by Root Source, Israel365 and a number of Christian leaders in Israel.
In the last weeks it may feel that all we are doing at Root Source is related to the 9th of Av repentance. While it
may seem this way, there is more going on than that behind the scenes. We are working on a big story that we have never told before! It is going to be very different from the 9th of Av topic.
This week, we feature a question from our student Abigail who is asking for a step by step foundation building study on the 613 Commandments G-D gave
Moses.

Weekly Portion: Re’eh – August 11 – 30th of Av |
In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Re’eh Deuteronomy 11:26 – 16:17, “See,” says Moses to the people of Israel, “I place before you today a blessing and a curse”—the blessing that will come when they fulfill God’s commandments, and the curse if they abandon them. These should be proclaimed on Mount Gerizim and
Mount Ebal when the people cross over into the Holy Land.
In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading Isaiah 54:11 – 55:5, is the third of a series of seven “haftarot of Consolation.” These seven haftarot commence on the Shabbat following Tisha b’Av and continue until Rosh Hashanah.

The Tisha B’Av 2018 declaration and signatures are presented to Yuli Edelstein, the speaker of the Knesset by Root Source,
Israel365 and a number of Christian leaders in Israel.

Blackham of Angel TV, Sharon Sanders of Christian Friends of Israel, Merv and Merla Watson co-founders of the Feast of Tabernacles Celebration in Israel, David Dekker of For Zion’s Sake, James Worthington of Return Ministries, Tommy and Sherri Waller of HaYovel, Christine Darg of Jerusalem Channel TV, and Bob O’Dell and Ray Montgomery on the phone.
