This week, the weekly Torah reading, Korach stages a rebellion against Moses, accusing him of a power grab. He and his entourage are swallowed up by the earth. The people protest, and a plague
ensues. Of the staffs submitted by all the tribes, only Aaron's blossoms; proving that he is G‑d's chosen. The Israelites are instructed the various presents due to the priests and Levites.
Root Source Interviews Rabbi Yoel Bin Nun. He explains his discovery of Parabolic Logic, that he gained from the writings of Rabbi Kook, one of the most famous
Rabbi’s in modern Israel. Rabbi Bin Nun says that the parabola is God’s perfect shape to describe man’s interaction with the infinite. He contrasts it with circular, elliptical and hyperbolic logic.

Mazel Tov! Gidon’s Daughter Is Getting Married! |

Weekly Portion: Korach – June 24 – 30 Sivan |
In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Korach Numbers 16:1–18:32, incites a mutiny challenging Moses’ leadership and the granting of the kehunah (priesthood) to Aaron. He is accompanied by Moses’ inveterate foes, Dathan and Abiram. Joining them are 250 distinguished members of the community,
who offer the sacrosanct ketoret (incense) to prove their worthiness for the priesthood. The earth opens up and swallows the mutineers, and a fire consumes the ketoret-offerers.
In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading I Samuel 11:14 – 12:22, the prophet Samuel (a descendant of Korach, the protagonist of this week’s Torah portion) gathers the Jews to firmly install Saul as king of Israel. During the course of his address to the Jews he
called out, “Here I am; bear witness against me before God and before His anointed; whose ox did I take, or whose ass did I take, or whom did I rob; or whom did I oppress, or from whose hand did I take a bribe…” This echoes Moses’ statement in this week’s Torah reading: “I have not taken a donkey from a single one of them, and I have not harmed a single one of them.” Happy studying!

THE NEW CHRISTIAN ZIONISM |
Now in its thirty-sixth year, the annual Feast of Tabernacles celebration, sponsored by the International Christian Embassy (ICEJ—the J stands for its headquarters in Jerusalem), attracts thousands of Pentecostal Christians from around the world to Israel. Timed to coincide with the
Jewish holiday of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles is intended as a public show of Christian support for Israel. The prime minister of Israel almost always sends a personalized video greeting, and the mayor of Jerusalem usually delivers an address. Attendees tour holy sites and West Bank settlements, and they march in a “Parade of the Nations” through the streets of Jerusalem in front of curious Israeli bystanders.
