Dear ,

This week, the weekly Torah reading Tetzaveh discusses God's instructions to Moses regarding the seven-day inauguration for the Tabernacle.

In our Root Source segment for the week, Root Source interviews presents part of a longer, deep conversation to help Christians understand the Jewish view of Redemption.

Did you watch last week's Root Source Tours segment on the giant footprint? If so, here is the video you have been waiting for! And for those who didn't see part 1, in this part 2 we take you up in the air with a drone to see a mysterious, giant footprint near the Jordan River in Israel.  We really think you will enjoy this cool video that we just published!

Doug Hamp continues to interview Bob O’Dell and Gidon Ariel of Root Source. This time they talk about the importance of Torah. You are also invited to an online conference! Details below.

We sign off with a lovely quote from a Root Source student and a beautiful picture Near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem.

Shalom,

Gidon Ariel and Bob O’Dell

Weekly Portion:

Tetzaveh – March 11 – 13 Adar

In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Tetzaveh Exodus 27:20 – 30:10, God tells Moses to receive from the children of Israel pure olive oil to feed the “everlasting flame” of the menorah, which Aaron is to kindle each day, “from evening till morning.”

In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading Ezekiel 43:10 – 43:27, the prophet Ezekiel describes a vision of the altar that will be built for the third Holy Temple and its dedication ceremony–paralleling this week’s Torah portion which discusses the dedication of the Tabernacle’s altar.

Happy studying!

 Interview:

Rivkah Adler – On Jewish Redemption

Root Source interviews presents part of a longer, deep conversation to help Christians understand the Jewish view of Redemption.

As she explains to Bob O’Dell, who is hearing this for the first time, the Hebrew word Geula embodies at once the idea of restoration to God’s original intent, the end-of-days, and the coming of the Messiah.

Doug Hamp – Part 4 – Torah

What is the Torah? Why is it important? Why should Christians not be afraid of this? Why might they want to embrace it?

"Thank you so much for this! It was very interesting."

Our student Meredith enjoyed our last blog post and had this to say.

Hi Rabbi, I enjoyed this so much! Thank you!! Having been to Jerusalem, I can remember many of these sites, but had no idea of the fact that much of what I was seeing wasn't actually as it had been back in the days of the Bible. If I ever get back to Jerusalem, I'd so love to take a historical tour with you! I so love Jewish history! Thanks again and I can't wait for the next video! Shalom and it's good to see you!
