,
This week, we continue reading the Torah, this time about Noah.
The Ask the Rabbi question this week is about sacrifices in the future Third Temple! Check it out!
We share Bob's address at a recent convention in Jerusalem during the Sukkot
celebration.
We conclude our review of the Moskowitz Zionism prize awards ceremony, with the third winner, Yehuda Harel. You will be amazed at this hero's life.
Before we sign off with our lovely quote from a student and a beautiful picture of the Negev Desert, we face real life a bit and share a story of terror that hit close. Thank God no one was
hurt..
Shalom,
Gidon Ariel and Bob O’Dell Root Source Founders

Weekly Portion: Noah – November 5 – 4 Heshvan
|
This week we read Noah (the “h” should be pronounced more gutturally, like you are clearing your throat), Genesis 6:9 – 11:32. The second portion of Genesis, we read mostly the story of the Flood, but also a bit of Noah’s life story; the population of the world with the 70 nations descended from Noah; the story of the Tower of Babel (maybe you didn’t know: Babel is identical to Babylonia, modern day Iraq); and the ten generations from Noah to Abraham. (Next week, we shift gears from universal stories to
focusing on the Children of Israel and their forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.)
This week’s Prophets reading is from Isaiah 54:1-55:5. The connection to the Noah reading 54:8: For this
to Me is like the waters of Noah: As I swore that the waters of Noah Nevermore would flood the earth, So I swear that I will not Be angry with you or rebuke you.
But as usual, I highly recommend reading the entire passage. It talks about God’s everlasting love of Israel in spite of their sins, and they will be redeemed!
Ask the Rabbi: The Future and Animal Sacrifices
|
Our student Vicki asked this quick but far from simple question:
Hi Gidon, Can you give us a brief account of the wisdom of the sages concerning the future of animal
sacrifices in the Third Temple?
What do you personally think?
Todah Rabah, Vicki.
Redemption: Agony, Surprise, and First Wave |
Bob and Gidon both spoke recently at the Jerusalem Channel Feast of Tabernacles conference during the week of Sukkot.
In this talk, Bob shares a personal story of tragedy as an example of God’s faithfulness and persistence in desiring redemption of everything possible.
He also gives a few predictions of what he believes is in store for Christian and Jewish relations in the coming years. Listen to

Who is Yehuda Harel Zionism Prize – Winner 3 |
Yehuda Harel has been a long-time player in the story of the Golan Heights, and how it progressed from nothing more than a military buffer zone between Syria and Israel, to what is today a flowering and productive part of the nation.
It seems more than coincidence that the year the Yehuda wins the prize is the year in which the final step was taken by the Israeli government to declare that Golan shall forever be part of Israel, which is discussed in detail in the Root Source book Jubilee NOW, and the various Jubilee videos on this blog.

Terror Strikes Close: Anti Semitic Arson Attack on Gidon’s Synagogue |
Longtime followers of Root Source and other friends of mine know that while Root Source is my main activity, I am active in many other things, including living in a Jewish community (settlement) in Judea and Samaria.
With some of my neighbors, I pray weekly in an outdoor synagogue that serves as a memorial for two Israeli soldiers who were killed in an IDF accident in a case of mistaken identity. This week, when we arrived at the site, we were horrified to see that the synagogue was burnt!
"What a Wonderful Way to Start the Day Off" |
Keith said: Thank you very much Gidon. What a wonderful way to start the day off by thanking G-d for returning our soul to us. I think of a verse of Scripture that says that if G-d withholds our breath we die. Every person, indeed every living creature, is dependent upon G-d for life. Most of the time we (non Jewish people that is) do not even think of such.
Tamarine responded: That is so true, Keith. Discovering the the blessings of studying and adopting G-d's instructions to Christians like me is monumental and life changing. It is as if the light switch has been turned on! I say this after a lifetime of Christian upbringing and church involvement. I am grateful G-d chose the Jewish nation to preserve His words and to be His people who share His
love with the rest of us!
