This week, the weekly portion is overridden by a special reading about Sukkot and... Gog and Magog! Read about it below.

Bob and Gidon were interviewed by a popular (if controversial) Christian pastor about the Jubilee, and also in a podcast of the Hebrew Nations network. Listen to them here.

A few months ago, Bob and Gidon were guests at the Moskowitz Prize event in Jerusalem. Today we share about one of the recipients of that prize, Rabbi Benny Elon.

And we finish up as usual with a beautiful comment from one of our students and a beautiful picture from the Land of Israel.

Weekly Portion:
Shabbat of Sukkot Torah Reading October 22 – 20 Tishrei

On Holidays, the regular weekly Torah reading is preempted by the special Holiday reading.

The Sukkot reading for Shabbat is Exodus 33:12 – 34:26. The reason is, because that passage mentions the three pilgrimage festivals, including Sukkot. (The same reading exactly is read on Shabbat of Passover.)

The Prophets reading is Ezekiel 38:18 – 39:16, the prophecy of Gog and Magog. Perhaps this is the year that this prophecy will be realized!

Who is Rabbi Benny Elon – Zionism Prize – Winner 1

Root Source recorded the background presentation on who is Rabbi Benny Elon, and why he was a 2016 winner of the Moskowitz Prize for Zionism.

Incidentally one of the areas in East Jerusalem that he helped beautify were the grounds where the Moskowitz awards took place.

The "Hebrew Nation" is a group of seeking Christians on a journey, learning about their place in the world in relation with the Hebrew Bible and the Jewish People.

This prayer makes quite an impact! The Hebrew language is beautiful but sung with such heart is quite an experience. My memories were opened, too. During the Yom Kippur War I was attending an educational conference and my roommate was Jewish. She explained how her mother always fixed several crock pots for Shabbat but she could not explain why the enemies of Israel had so much hate. We decided it began centuries before. This was the beginning of my search for truth and understanding. So I am grateful for Root Source and what I am learning. I stand with Israel!This prayer makes quite an impact!
