This week, the weekly Torah reading Tetzaveh, we read the details of the construction of the Tabernacle, the sanctuary in the desert. This week's Parshah, Tetzaveh, we discover the special garments worn by the priests and high priest when serving in the Tabernacle. Following that, we read God's instructions to Moses regarding the seven-day inauguration for the Tabernacle. The portion concludes with a description of one of the vessels of the Tabernacle—the Incense Altar

Weekly Portion:
Tetzaveh – February 24 – 9 Adar

In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Tetzaveh Exodus 27:20 – 30:10, God tells Moses to receive from the children of Israel pure olive oil to feed the “everlasting flame” of the menorah, which Aaron is to kindle each day, “from evening till morning.”

In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading Ezekiel 43:10 – 43:27, the prophet Ezekiel describes a vision of the altar that will be built for the third Holy Temple and its dedication ceremony—paralleling this week’s Torah portion which discusses the dedication of the Tabernacle’s altar.

Aaron has been called by God to educate the world about God’s truth in the Bible as shown in the archaeology of Israel.
