In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Vayeitzei Genesis 28:10 – 32:3, Jacob leaves his hometown of Beersheba and journeys to Charan. On the way, he encounters “the place” and sleeps there, dreaming of a ladder connecting heaven and earth, with angels climbing and descending on it; G‑d appears and promises that the land upon which he lies will be given to his descendants. In the morning, Jacob raises the stone on which he laid his head as an altar and monument, pledging that it will be made the house of God.

In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading Hosea 11:7-12:14, mentions Jacob’s flight from home to the “field of Aram,” an episode that is recounted in this week’s Torah reading.

What is the role of Yeshua in Jew's mission to lead people / the world back to God?

Rabbi, my wife and I have greatly enjoyed your teachings… thank you. As a gentile believer and ordained minister, something jumped out at me as I listened to lesson 9. You stated a few times that the Jews mission is to lead people/the world back to God. What I didn’t hear was the role of Yeshua in this process. Scripture clearly states there is but one way to the Father and that is through the Son, Jesus Christ. Would appreciate and look forward to your comments. Shalom

Thanks for this, Bob. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the part that the horses played in the battle and what they were like; also the bond between horse and rider, and their bravery. Next to cats, horses are my favourite animal. Both Bibi and Malcolm Turnbull spoke very well, and the warmth between the two was very obvious.
