Dear ,

We are coming close to the holiday of Simchat Torah, the happiness of Torah, immediately after which we begin the cycle of reading the Torah from the book and portion of Genesis, Bereshit. This year, Root Source published a groundbreaking book, The Light From Zion, in which expert Jewish teachers share the timeless divine wisdom of the Torah with interested Christians (!) We only have a few copies left! See a sample at the link below and order your chilly today so you will get it before the holiday!

This week, the weekly Torah reading Ki Tavo, the Israelites are commanded to bring the first of their fruit to the Temple, and to deliver all tithes to their proper recipients. Moses explains how the blessings and curses are to be proclaimed on Mts. Grizzim and Ebal when the Jewish nation enters into Israel.

Root Source teacher, Rabbi Adler has started a 30 day series of Torah thoughts leading to Rosh Hashanah. We would like to share with you Days 8 - 10. Like our Facebook page to follow Rabbi Elan Adler's 30/30 day series of Torah thoughts.

Root Source Interview presents part 3 of the interview with Rav Dov Ben Shor. He explains the differences in God’s divine presence manifested in the First, Second and the coming Third temple. He specifically walks through the five things that the First Temple had, that the Second temple lacked, and then compares the First temple to the coming Third temple, which will be nothing like the first!

Root Source Tours takes you up onto an Israeli volcano to see the best overlook in the Golan Heights shows you the border between Syria and Israel.
See the difference between what Israel has done with the land and Syria.

On August 7, 2017, We received an email from our good friend Vicki who informed us about a symposium that she attended in Dallas and how she wished we could have witnessed the event so unusual in that people of all walks, secular and religious, Jewish and Christian, came together with one thing in common, Love for Israel.

“The Light from Zion” book –

Weekly Portion:
Ki Tavo – September 9 – 18 Elul

In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Ki Tavo Deuteronomy 26:1 – 29:8, Moses instructs the people of Israel: When you enter the land that God is giving to you as your eternal heritage, and you settle it and cultivate it, bring the first-ripened fruits (bikkurim) of your orchard to the Holy Temple, and declare your gratitude for all that God has done for you.

In this week’s Haftara Prophets reading Isaiah 60:1 – 60:22, is the sixth of a series of seven “Haftarot of Consolation.” These seven haftarot commence on the Shabbat following Tisha b’Av and continue until Rosh Hashanah.

Happy Studying!

Day #8, 9 & 10 of a 30 day series of Torah thoughts by Rabbi Elan Adler.

Root Source teacher, Rabbi Adler has started a 30 day series of Torah thoughts leading to Rosh Hashanah.

Day #8
New Years resolutions have a different quality than Rosh Hashanah ones. Interview the person on the street in December about their resolutions and you might hear ideas about losing weight, stop smoking, less time on social media, being more careful about spending money, curtailing alcoholic beverages and the like. These are all great ideas and should be highly encouraged. The tone of Elul, however, is more reflective, and responses range from more synagogue, more study, more prayer, more charity, more family, more sensitivity, more God, more Israel, more kindness, more Shabbat…..New Years tends to be about “less,” and Rosh Hashanah tends to be about “more.” And in this month of Elul, what “more” could you ask for?

Israel Today, a symposium held at Temple Shalom in Dallas.

Vicki said:
Hi Gidon, Avraham and Bob, I wanted to share with you about a symposium that I attended yesterday in Dallas thanks to Bob. It was titled Israel Today and was held at Temple Shalom in Dallas. It was such a blessing to me but at the same time I was a little sad because I wished that people in Israel could have witnessed this event so unusual in that people of all walks, secular and religious, Jewish and Christian, came together with one thing in common, Love for Israel. We got to hear from Boaz Golany from the Technion about all of the amazing technology that is coming out of Israel, BDS and anti-BDS, Israeli culture and food, US and Israeli relations, history and politics.

"Wow! Thank you for video on eclipse."

Linda enjoyed the Eclipse footage and had this to say.

Linda wrote:
Wow! Thank you for video on eclipse. I was over 100 miles away from Charleston, SC, & it was weird to see the street lights come on where I was as eclipse pass over Charleston. Thank you for "Praise The Lord" through the video.
My interpretation would be that the Christians of USA will take notice of the Jewish faith with more respect & attention during the next 7 years. This will be a time for the Jews to show the Christians the Risen Jewish Messiah’s LOVE beyond even their understanding as Christ/Messiah is being formed in them also as they say BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!!- meaning “Welcome Christians, our spiritual brothers & sisters who love us & we love!” Galatians 3:25-28, 4:19.
