But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. Amos

This week, the weekly Torah
reading Eikev, Moses continues his pep talk to the Israelites, cautioning them not to fear the Canaanite armies for God will wage battle for them. He also notifies them that their entry into the Land is not due to their own virtues – Moses reminds them of their many transgressions to emphasize this point – but rather, it is in the merit of the nation's Forefathers. The commandments of prayer and Grace After Meals are mentioned. The second part of the Shema is also found in
this portion.
This week, we feature a question from our student Sharon who was asking Gidon Ariel about Eve's Add-on to the Commandment.
Root Source Interviews Rabbi Dov Ben Shor, who we have found to have one of the clearest, most authentic perspectives on
“the times in which we find ourselves”. In this segment he explains the WHY of the newly formed Sanhedrin in Israel.

Negative or positive? All eclipses are the subject of
prophetic speculation. Is that hype? And what about hope? We weigh evidence on both sides of the question. Both historical and biblical prophecy views are presented, and then we ask you to decide for yourself!
We sign off with a lovely quote from a Root Source student and a picture of a boy who first visit Jerusalem.
Shalom,

In this Shabbat’s weekly Torah portion Eikev Deuteronomy 7:12 – 11:25, In the Parshah of Eikev (“Because”), Moses continues his closing address to the children of Israel, promising them that if they will fulfill the commandments (mitzvot) of the Torah, they will prosper in the Land

Eve's Add-on to the Commandment |
Sharon asked:
(May the Lord put His words in your mouth and may He cover you with the shadow of His hand. (Isaiah 51:16a, NKJV) May you speak what is right and may it be of value to others. (Proverbs 16:13, TNIV ) Rabbi: in Gen 2 Adam is commanded by HaShem RE “not to eat (of
tree of knowledge of good and evil) lest you die.” In Gen 3, Chava answers the serpent, “Elohim commanded not to eat of it, not to touch it, lest you die.”Did Chava (Deut 4:2) add to/change Hashem’s words?

Millennials Closer to Israel, Torah |
Once again, Breaking Israel News covered Root Source Israel First! Campus Campaign Project.
Online educational institute Root Source is reaching out to thousands of millennial college students, one of the
most desirable and difficult demographics for the pro-Israel cause, in order to spread the word of God’s prophetic work in the Holy Land.
The purpose of the project, called the Millennials and Students Campaign, is to “raise consciousness about Israel amongst mostly Christian millennials, both pro-Israel and less so,” explained Root Source co-founder Gidon Ariel.

"I thoroughly enjoyed your tour of the yeshiva." |
Our student Linda enjoyed Root Source and had this to say. Linda wrote: As the former high school teacher, I thoroughly enjoyed your tour of the yeshiva as well as your comments. I am an old person! as my days in college were not spent partying, but doing far more studying. I was in a women's
college belonging to the Southern Baptists. We did not study 15 hours a day, but we didn't play all the time either. so I laughed at your comment about college as I know that is the way it is today! Thank you for translating the motto and explaining so much that you pointed out. It was a delight.
