Root Source Rabbi Educated at Roman Catholic University
Dear Root Source Students,

We are honored to share a video of our first-ever conversation with Reverend Canon Andrew White, recorded over tea at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. Dubbed "Vicar of Baghdad" because his congregation is the only remaining Anglican church in Iraq, Part 1 of this series shares the Reverend’s personal story including receiving Jewish training as a Christian while attending Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

In addition, this week’s newsletter features an interview with Root Source teacher, Rabbi Elan Adler.  Known for his engaging personality and fascinating lectures, we were intrigued to learn of his unconventional education which you will be surprised to read about here.

Even though Root Source is an online publication, we take our teacher-student relationship seriously. We invite you to have a taste of that relationship with a free month’s trial!

Shalom,

Gidon Ariel and Bob O’Dell

Interview with Rev. Canon Andrew White - Part 1

Root Source had the honor and pleasure of interviewing Reverend Canon Andrew White, the “Vicar of Baghdad,” while he visited Jerusalem. As an extensively published author, the recipient of a long list of awards, undergoing experimental treatment for his own multiple sclerosis and more, to say that listening to Reverend White is a fascinating opportunity would be an understatement.

Meet the Root Source Rabbi Educated at a Roman Catholic University!
Root Source is excited to share the story of one of its beloved teachers, Rabbi Elan Adler.  With his decades long successful career in the Rabbinate as well as his unusual upbringing and education, you might just discover through this interview one of the reasons why you will enjoy listening to Rabbi Adler’s Chapters of the Fathers so much!

Root Source Students and Teachers

Rabbi Elan Adler adds a new dimension to his already well-received Chapters of the Fathers lecture series!

Student Mel wrote: Rabbi Adler, first I want to thank you for your teaching. I am really enjoying it. I would like to ask if you could possibly read all of the Hebrew text in your teaching. I know you have read most of it but I am trying to learn Hebrew and I enjoy hearing someone who knows the language pronounce it properly. I have a printout of the Hebrew text that I am following along with your teaching. It would be a be a big help if possible. Thanks and shalom!

Rabbi Adler Replied: Hi Mel, thanks so much for listening and taking the time to write and share your appreciation with me, it means a lot! I would be happy to read the entire Hebrew text; besides helping you with reading along in the Hebrew text, it gives it a special flavor, I think, to hear it in Hebrew. So, God willing, look for more Hebrew :) Thanks again and shalom!

Rabbi Adler implemented this request in May 2015.

Our Students Love Us… And We Love Them!

I just wanted to "Thank You" for this Sound, Balanced, Teaching. I have had the honor to travel to Israel in March of 2012 & again in October of 2013. These two trips have completely transformed me. I am so Glad that I was led to your site, your teachings are exactly what I was searching for. I look forward in subscribing. Again, Thank You, Todah, for all the work that goes into the preparing of all the Teachings.  I will keep you, Bob & Gidon in my prayers, along with the Teachers that you have partnered with.

Stay in His Peace,
Rosa
