This coming Shabbat's Torah portion, read on Saturday, September 14th, is Parashat Ki Teitzei. This week’s reading, Ki Teitzei, contains 74 commandments, more mitzvot than any other Torah portion. Some commandments include: dealing with a rebellious son, burying the dead quickly, returning lost items, not harming animals, banning prostitution, laws of marriage and divorce, Levirate marriage, and erasing the memory of Amalek.

Abraham in the land of Gerar

In our first lesson of our course on Fear of God in the Hebrew Bible, we look to the book of Genesis and follow the patriarch Abraham in his travels and travails in the land of Gerar and in Egypt.  The differences between the King of Gerar and the Pharaoh of Egypt will highlight the purpose and the role of fearing God in the Hebrew Bible.

Richard and Gidon discussed God's red lines, how nations are judged by their treatment of the Jewish people, and challenges facing the U.S., along with a friend's business struggles in Jerusalem. They also explored the importance of attitude, mindset, biblical perspectives.

Rabbi Ari Shvat answers the thought-provoking question: "Is the Torah separate from God or is it actually God?" Read his insightful response!
