This coming Shabbat's Torah portion, read on Saturday, March 16th, is Pekudei. This portion describes the manufacture of the vestments of the priests and high priests — which were already described in the portion of Tetzaveh, where G‑d instructs Moses how these garments are to be assembled.

The high priest’s ephod — a reversed apron which covered the back — and its precious-stone-studded shoulder straps were made. The High Priest’s Choshen Mishpat (“Breastplate of Judgment”) was assembled. It contained four rows of precious stones, each row containing three stones. 

Purim and Mishloach Manot

One of the most important parts of Purim is sending gifts of food ("Mishloach Manot") to others, as mentioned in Esther 9:22 which enjoins the Jewish people to observe the days of Purim "as days of feasting and gladness, and sending portions of food to one another, and gifts to the poor." (Reference: Wiki)
 

Today, with the Hamas war raging in the south and the Hizbollah war brewing in the north, many Israelis are in relatively dire straits, and would be encouraged to receive such gifts.

And getting such a gift from a pro-Israel Christian who loves them would double the delight!

They also touched on the limitations of individual actions in addressing global issues, their faith, a trip Alan took to Israel in 1998, and the idea of inviting a small group of people to speak at Alan’s church.
