This coming Shabbat's Torah portion, read on Saturday, April 1st, is Tzav. In Tzav (“Command”), God tells Moses about the sacrifices offered in the Mishkan (Tabernacle), including a meal offering brought by the high priest, guilt offerings, and offerings of thanks. Moses initiates Aaron and Aaron’s sons for priestly service in the Mishkan.

Jewish Holidays abound! And in a week or two the holiday of Passover will arrive. For thousands of years, Jews all over the world have enjoyed the “Seder” night, the traditional ceremonial meal on Passover eve.

The book used for the Seder is the Haggada, and of course, Rabbi Steinsaltz has written a commentary on that too!

This downtime may stem from an afternoon slump, an overdue vacation, a mundane assignment, or even returning to work anticlimactically after completing a major project.
