This coming Shabbat's Torah portion, read on Saturday, March 11th, is Ki Tisa. This action-packed portion contains the final instructions for building the Tabernacle. It also relates the events of the Sin of the Golden Calf. Following the sin, Moses pleads with
God to maintain His relationship with the Children of Israel as it had been until that point.

Parashat Ki Tisa

The portion discusses the census of the Israelites, the washbasin of the Tabernacle, the anointing oils for the priests and kings, the incense offering, and the Sabbath. The Torah then relates the story of the Golden Calf, G‑d’s anger at the Jewish nation, Moses successfully arguing for Divine forgiveness for the sin, the subsequent breaking of the tablets, and the giving of the second tablets.

Our popular Root Source teacher Rabbi Gedalia Meyer has been giving short weekly teaching on the Weekly Portion for the Temple Institute.
