Parashat Re'eh

In this week’s reading, Re’eh, Moses continues addressing the Israelites just before he passes away; just before the Israelites cross the Jordan River and enter the land of Israel. Moses commands the Israelites to proclaim certain blessings and curses on Mount Grizzim and Mount Ebal after they enter the land of Israel.

In our first lesson of our course on Fear of God in the Hebrew Bible, we look to the book of Genesis and follow the patriarch Abraham in his travels and travails in the land of Gerar and in Egypt.

"Hi to Bob & Gidon,
Just wanted to write to you and let you know that last week I finished reading "Five Years with Orthodox Jews." An amazing read about two men who are dedicated to the importance of building relationships and friendship with the Jews. Just like Cornelius! I am reminded, by this book, that throughout history the Jewish people have always reached out in love and respect of all people and religions. Israel today is a pioneer in technology and agriculture and what have they done with this blessing from GOD? Shared it all with the world. You emphasize that we must not settle for what exists, that is so true. Connecting with GOD's people truly does unlock understanding of GOD's word. Last night I asked the kids and the parents if they would like to be blessed by GOD. Then I shared Genesis 12:3, "I will bless those who bless you" and that's why we have the flag of Israel in this classroom." During the year we incorporate teaching the children about
Israel and the Jewish people. Why? Because it is in GOD's word. Thanks again for helping me learn more about Israel's history. I have "Root Source" in my daily prayers now.
